Friday Baking Inspiration: French Apple Cake

You know the saying “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”… There are five apples in this cake!

We’ll have a slice of this to keep the doctor away .

This apple cake is inspired by the French Apple Cake in Dorie Greenspan’s cookbook “Around my French Table”.  The beauty of this cake is that it is simple to make and doesn’t require any spices. The cake is flavoured with Calvados (or white rum) and vanilla (and our EVOO ). Traditionally made with butter but we adapted it with a healthy fats bonus.

We made this cake with our Leccino EVOO which has aroma of green apples and vanilla notes.
